Information: The Republic of Costa Rica is a Central American country, located between Panama on the south and Nicaragua on the north. Costa Rica is divided into three main areas: volcanic mountains of the Cordilleras, lava plains of the Caribbean coast and the rugged Pacific coast. In the Cordilleras there are many volcanoes, active of sleeping, including the Turialba. The three most visited are the Volcán Poás (2704 m), the Arenal (1633 m) and the Irazú (3432 m). In the higher central plain (Meseta Central) in the cordillera, the Costa Rica has a high density of population with: San José, Alajuela, Cartago and Heredia being the largest cities of the country. Costa Rica's economy depends on ecotourism, agriculture, and electronic products.
