Information: Kenya is an Eastern African country. Its neighbors are Sudan and Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the east, Uganda to the west and Tanzania to the south. It is bordering the Indian Ocean. The height rises from the east to the west thanks to the Great Rift Valley, which created mountains and lakes. The Mount Kenya, which is the highest point (5199 m) of Kenya, is an extinct volcano with snow at its top all year long. Plains are in the eastern part of the country and are made of savannah. The Great Rift Valley created many lakes, such as the Turkana lake to the north of the country. It is boarded by the Chalbi desert and is famous for its birds: greater flamingos, leptoptilos... Another interesting place is the Lake Victoria, split between Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and which is one the origin of the Nile. Kenya has more than 500 km of seacoast with the Indian Ocean. Fine sand beaches and coconut trees. Other places of interest are the Funzi islands and the town of Mombasa, which is linked to the mainland by bridges.
