Information: Laos (Lao People's Democratic Republic) is a southeast Asian country located between Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and the People's Republic of China. Mountains and plateaus make up for 70% of the country. It is watered by the Mekong, which is hardly navigable due to its irregular flow (1898 km in Laos on a total of 4200 km), and which act as a border with Thailand.
